DCUO Winter 2020 Seasonal Personal and Base items!

Just a quick overview of the DCUO Winter Season 2020 by Dack Man Gaming, highlighting the newest personal and base items.  I have a feeling the new beard is going to be a popular item, but we'll have to see once the seasonal starts tomorrow - see you in-world!

The 2020 Black Friday Sale is on...

Well, the 2020 Black Friday Sale is currently on, and frankly, the current sales aren't as good as I remember.  Personally, I've picked up a few respec badges and a few other things, but some of the things I'd like to see aren't on sale.  Still, after a hiatus, I'm going to start posting a bit more, so there is that... see you in world!

Seasonal Event: Halloween 2020 Items and Styles

I'll have to go back to Mr. Obsidian Chill and his outstandingly prompt reviews, for the next entry.  He's posted a bit on the newest results for the upcoming 2020 Halloween event.  I'm not overly impressed with the styles, but there are a few nice new seasonal items.  As the Patchwork Themyscira event has turned old hat by now, so the upcoming seasonal events are a nice change.  That being said, please take a look a the newest item's items coming next month!

DCUO: Updated Earth In-Depth Guide, Might & Precision

Been AWOL a bit, so figured upon my return I'd post the newest updated guide for DCUO powers, this time with Earth, my "go-to" power.  A good guide, though I tend to have a pull in my melee loadouts.  Mr. Obsidian Chill has a different view, so please take a look at his update analysis, located below.

Also, as the superheroine-du-jour, I've added Impossigirl, the original character of DanoSHC (deviant art link here).  Noticed afterwards that the Impossigirl is actually part of some saucier links, so follow and review as you will, I guess... see you in-world!

Flashpoint Time Capsule reveal

Still grinding on feats in-world, but figured I'd post a quick entry on what's in the Flashpoint Time capsules, courtesy by Mr. Multiverse.  See you in-world!

Top Five Powers (as of May, 2020)!

Supergirl 4, by Jeffach

Just a quick entry highlighing the "top five powers" as of 2020, per Mr. Greg DeLuca.  I was surprised to see one of my newest powersets being mentioned as a good DPS (that would be water), but it's worth a listen, and mabye a comment or head shake!

While I was at it, figured I'd add a much better Super Girl rendition, than the train wreck / SJW "Super Girl" from the WB.  Until next post!

DCUO: Updated Water In-Depth Guide (Might & Precision) & Mera, Queen of the Seas

Currently working on a few new entry/categories for the blog, but wanted to keep up with the updated power guides in the meantime.  During the BOP metahuman fight, I decided to make and scale up a water-based character... making this the perfect time to add the water update!  Yes, once again headed over to Mr. Obsidian Chills invaluable channel for more guidance...

Also added a be more on Mera, Queen of the Seas.  For a second, I considered adding some Amber Heard (the RL train wreck that played Mera in the Aquaman movie), but I'll just leave this entry with some amazing Mera artwork from two fantastic artists - Mr. P. Gandara & the legendary Nebezial!  See you next post!

DCUO: Updated Nature In-Depth Guide & Artifact review

Poison Ivy by vest

Today's entry is a bit short, as there's a few RL things to get addressed... but I'm adding the updated In-Depth Nature Guide (by Mr. ObsidanChill, again) in preparation for next weeks release of the Wonderverse!

(The newest Nature Guide!)

DC - Poison Ivy, by MilliganVick

I also decided to add his latest review on artifacts, as just ranking them up is almost an thought-less habit.  Having an insight into how they work... and if they are worth the effort.  Also, worth a watch.

(More great information!)

See you in the Wonderverse next week!

Wonderverse: Open World Preview!

Wonder Woman, by Luches

Just an early week interlude, with a preview of the open world Wonderverse missions.  Always nice to have a heads up as to what to expect, courtesy of Matus Kravec!

The video runs about 20 minutes (or a tad under, really).  However, it's been awhile since we've had new content (imo), so looking forward to some new content!  Enjoy the view and see you next post!

DCUO: Updated Fire In-Depth Guide (Might & Precision)

And... I'm back!  Took a bit of a break from the blog and honestly didn't think I'd have the interest in returning, but a confluence of recent events (and a desire to move beyond in-world dynamics).  So after a new computer, new connection, and new motivation, JL Legends is back!

As such, I'm catching up with the amazing Mr. Obsidian Chill and his power reviews.  He's been quite busy, and as a re-introduction, I've posted his latest, the in-depth Fire DPS/Tank guide!  As I've returned my Blue Devil character back to a fire power set, it's been a great help.  (Well, I like the look, but at this point, the power set is average... but need to get him up in time for the upcoming Wonderverse).

So a few changes moving forward...

1) I may not post as frequently, but I'll try to at least put a few entries a week.

2) I will be less circumspect about my opinions of in-world dynamics.  (There is plenty of idiocy going on in DCUO, but some things do stand out).

3) I'll be posting saucier pictures on the blog.  (Not that older pictures weren't saucy, but I'll put any NSFW graphics in the lower part of the entries).

So there you go... I'm back, I'll be updating, and I'll see you next post!

Shuttering the doors to the blog....

Welp, its been fun posting DCUO guides, but a change in perspective is leading me towards different goals.  A bit ago, I had seen a "final post" by DackMan, stating he was done with the DCUO.  This led me to thinking about my own time spent on the DCUO.  Aside from needing a new computer (in the works), I considered that the huge open world is pretty much vacant, with the exception of the occasional season event.  Also, the events seem... 'meh'.  I liked Metal Gotham, but Thanagar was a bust (imo).  Looking back, the only recent content I really enjoyed was Chaos Gotham - as I was pretty bored with Atlantis and the Teen Titans episodes.    Additionally, DCUO is over a decade old, and they've done their best to upgrade graphics, but between "ok" graphics (by today's standards), and boring game play, I think its time to focus my efforts elsewhere.  Finally, I had to concur with Dackman in so far that the new management is try to over-monetize the DCUO.  It seems like the DCUO is indeed a proverbial golden goose that is slowly being bled for other unsuccessful projects.

I'm I quitting the DCUO?  No, not for now, anyways.  But instead of plowing time and money into the game, I'll take a step back and work on learning to write fiction and develop my DAZ-3d skills.  For those who have stopped by... my thanks.  Hope to see you in-world!

DCUO: Review of Pet Trinkets, Sidekicks, and Backups, and the departure of DackMan

Power Girl, for Aidenke

A quick entry from Mr. Obsidian Chill (again), providing a quick overview of the existing DCUO trinkets, sidekicks, and backups in the game.  As we're not getting any new content until April, its a perfect time to start leveling up in preparation for the Birds of Prey event.

On a more somber note, Mr. Dackman will be leaving the DCUO fold for a variety of reasons, as he has detailed below.  He was an outstanding longtime DCUO blogger, providing insights and advice for DCUO players for years... but due to the the reasons from his video (many of which I agree with), he's leaving for good.  Sad to say, but we wish him well in his other virtual worlds.

DCUO In-Depth: Updated Sorcery DPS/Healer (2020)!

Mr. Obsidian Chill recently posted an updated sorcery loadout, which works out nicely as I'm in the process of leveling up a sorcery toon.  My current loadout is alright, but I'm still getting used to working ranged attacks (used to melee tank, so it's new to me).  Still, getting the hang of sorcery, and looking forward to maximizing load outs.

Keeping an eye on the league, and I'll post more on that soon.  Short observation, I'm getting the feeling that it is on the decline, going from a high in the mid-200s for membership, to the low-90s currently.  Keeping an eye on it, and my Blue Devil toon will remain in the league, but... it's just part of the league cycles.  Well, until next time, and see you in-world!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentines day!  Aside from the same Valentine's Day even we've had for years (grrr...), at least there is triple Thangarian marks this weekend.  Thus, take advantage this weekend of the extra marks!

Honestly, looking forward to some new content, but for now, we'll just have to enjoy a few pictures...

Valentine's Day Event Style and Base Items, 2020!

Starfire Pin-up, by tiangtam

Been busy in RL, so not as many updates lately, but... Mr. Torikumu has a nice rundown of the 2020 Valentine's Day Event 2020.  If you're working on feats, or just want to see what's being offered this seasonal, do consider a view - see you in-world!

The rebranding of the Daybreak

My more popular videos involve those who work hard on making load outs for DCUO members, but when I came across the news Daybreak was doing something to its management team, it caught my eye.  Now called "Franchise Studios", Mr. Dack Man provides some insights as to what this development may really mean... sooo, do consider a listen to the future of the DCUO, and what may happen in the future!

The DCUO 9th Anniversary: Notes on the advance to CR 255

The DCUO 9th Anniversary has arrived!  I wasn't an OG with the game, but around long enough to see its changes over time.  The character advance is nice, but if you don't know how to activate it, it can be a bit confusing.  Soo... I've made a quick primer on how to activate your upgrade to 255...

(Note: The F1 (on PC, at least) isn't the activation for character advancement!  This is the gift Chroma for players (unless it is your intention to add the gift Chroma to your newly minted CR 255 toon)!)
Regarding the progression to CR 255:

1) When you log into the toon you want to advance, you'll choose the "advance CR" button for a single free advance in CR.

2) Then... when you're on your toon, you'll still see the original CR.  You will see the "advancement blurbs" in chat that allow you to go to higher level content.

3) You'll need to open the box with the "Hera's Strength 2020" items.  This will provide you with a full suite of armor/weapons/trinkets to level up to CR 255.

4) Once you level up (e.g. add your items to reach CR 255), you'll receive mail with three vault tickets.  This will provide some additional items to raise your CR.

5) You'll be able to head off to the Justice League Dark events...!

Remember, though your CR is raised... you still have to grind (or buy) those skill points!  Small detail, but a money maker for DCUO.

Good through the end of the year!

A "Lost Weekend" on the DCUO

It appears to be a "lost weekend" with the DCUO, with:

1) No bonus weekend whatsoever - no bonus coins, tokens, or anything for that matter.  Thus, no real purpose to log into aside from the trodden weeklies and knock out the dailies... if that.

2) The endless Winter event - One of my least favorite seasonal events, as pretty much everyone who has played the game has already done almost all of the feats associated with it.  Also, the base items are frankly pretty lame.

3) Possibly the weakest Episode in the past couple of years - Metal Part II (Thanagar) is a huge disappointment (to me).  Loved Chaos Gotham and Metal I (Metal Gotham), but Thanagar is likely only interesting to those who like Hawkman/Hawkgirl/Hawkwoman, etc...  The newest set of Episodes have not been announced yet, but I pray that they are better than Metal II.

4) No post-Christmas sale - previous years have had great post-Christmas sales.  Heck, I had loaded some coin onto my account in anticipation of it.  But we got... an "extra" 5% discount for Legendary members.  Gee, thanks.

Soooo... it'll mean more time doing other things than DCUO... like working on the blog!  Still, there is hope for the immediate future:

1) The Anti-Monitor Anniversary event returns on January 7th - In my eyes, a 180 degree turn from the mind-numbing Winter seasonal!  Love the Anniversary event, as it has a lot to engage in, and the Anti-Monitor Boss is usually well balanced (challenging, but beatable).  Arriving on Tuesday!

2) The DCUO Anniversary and gifts - Not exactly sure what will be involved with this, but I'm hoping that it'll be worth the wait... heck, I'd take a good sale as a gift!

With the Anniversary event arriving, and keeping my fingers crossed that there will be a worthwhile schedule of upcoming events, I'm going to just catch up on some football until the 7th, when things will be interesting again with the DCUO.

Happy 2020!

Just like PG recovering from a night of partying, I'm doing the same!  Still, with the start of the new year (and new decade), best wishes and success in 2020!
